Adding Your First Recipe
Create your first recipe from the Cooking Assistant.
The fastest way to add your first recipe is to use the Cooking Assistant to create and format the first draft.
Open the Cooking Assistant
- Open the dashboard.
- Choose the purple Cooking Assistant button in the lower-right corner if the assistant is not already open.
- Choose Create a Recipe.
Sparky Cooks opens a new recipe in the editor and shows the recipe-formatting dialog.
Choose What to Provide
In the assistant input, you can provide recipe content in a few different ways:
- Paste a recipe website URL.
- Paste recipe text you already have.
- Ask for a recipe using ingredients, such as
Create a dinner recipe using chicken, rice, and broccoli.
Press Enter to send the request.
Review the Recipe Draft
The assistant creates and formats a recipe draft. When the result appears, choose one of the available options:
- Cancel closes the result without changing the editor.
- Compare shows the assistant result next to the original context.
- Accept places the formatted recipe into the editor.
Edit and Save
After choosing Accept, you can edit the recipe directly in the editor.
Review the title, description, ingredients, directions, timing, quantities, and any food-safety details. The assistant can help format the recipe, but you should confirm the recipe before saving it.
When the recipe looks right, choose Save or Save As, enter the recipe name if needed, choose the folder, and save it.
Add Photos Later
URL imports do not import source-site images. Add your own recipe photos from Photos after the recipe is saved.
