Folders & Sharing

Folders and Sharing

Understand folder ownership, shared recipes, and shared folders.

Folders control recipe organization and editing permissions. Sharing controls view-only access for users outside your account.

The dashboard, sidebar, Files, save dialogs, and sharing center all use the same folder concepts.

Folder Ownership

Folder owners can create and manage recipes and subfolders inside folders they own.

Regular users only see manageable folders in Files. Owners, admins, and super users have broader access.

On the dashboard, users can still see account recipes even when they do not own the folder. Those recipes may be read-only.

The sidebar has folder trees for account recipes and shared recipes.

Use Include sub folders to control whether selecting a folder shows only that folder or that folder plus its subfolders.

The account folder tree and shared folder tree are tracked separately, so selecting a shared folder does not accidentally select an account folder with the same name.

Files

Use Manage > Files to create folders, create recipe files, open recipes, delete empty folders, and share selected files or folders.

The top-level files folder cannot be shared. Select a recipe or a real folder before sharing.

Shared Recipes

Individual recipe shares are view-only.

Shared Folders

Folder shares give view-only access to recipes in a folder and its subfolders. Recipes added to that folder later are included in the share.

Manage Sharing lists the folder share itself rather than listing every recipe that becomes visible through the folder share.
