Folder Ownership

Learn how folder ownership affects recipe management.

Folder ownership controls where users can create, move, and edit recipes.

Users can edit recipes in folders they own, even if another user created the recipe.

Users can only create folders, subfolders, and recipes in folders they are allowed to manage.

Owners, admins, and super users may have broader permissions depending on the account and selected account context.

Dashboard Access

The dashboard can show account recipes even when the signed-in user does not own the folder. Those recipes are read-only unless the user has edit access through ownership, folder ownership, or role.

Files Access

Files is stricter than the dashboard.

Regular users see only folders and subfolders they own. They cannot navigate into folders they do not own from Files.

Owners, admins, and super users can manage more folders within their account permissions.

Editor Folder Picker

When moving a recipe or choosing where to save a recipe, the folder picker follows the same folder permission rules. Regular users only see folders they are allowed to save to.

Default Folders

A user's default folder is used when creating new recipes in their own account. If a super user switches to another account, Sparky Cooks should use the selected account context rather than trying to save into the super user's home-account default folder.
