Shared Recipes
Learn what recipients can do with recipes shared directly with them.
Shared recipes are view-only. This applies to recipes shared directly and recipes visible through a shared folder.
Where Shared Recipes Appear
Shared recipes appear in the shared section of the dashboard sidebar.
If a shared folder is selected, the dashboard shows recipes from that shared folder. Use Include sub folders to include or exclude recipes from subfolders.
Shared recipes can also appear in All Files alongside account recipes. Sorting uses recipe metadata such as title, created date, updated date, and access count when that metadata is available.
What Recipients Can Do
Recipients can:
- Read the recipe.
- See tags.
- Add comments.
- Use Save As to make their own copy.
What Recipients Cannot Do
Recipients cannot:
- Edit the original recipe.
- Edit tags on the original recipe.
- Rename or move the original recipe.
- Share the original recipe.
Same-Account Users
Sparky Cooks does not allow sharing a recipe with another user already in the same account. Account users can already view account recipes from the dashboard. Edit access is handled through ownership, folder ownership, and account roles instead of direct sharing.
