Cooking Notes and Finish
Capture observations while cooking and review the result when you finish.
Use Note This
Choose Note This in the Cooking Guide to open Cooking Notes. On smaller web screens, the button is labeled Notes. Use it to capture an ingredient, amount, timing change, correction, technique, or anything else you want to remember without leaving the guide.
Cooking Notes are timestamped and synchronize across devices participating in the same Cooking Session. You can delete the latest note. If an older note is incorrect, add a new correction so Sparky Cooks has the complete sequence when it prepares the review.
Cooking Notes require Cooking Assistant permission and enough available Cooking Assistant allowance to reserve processing for the session. If a saved recipe cannot reserve processing, you can still use the ordinary cooking guide, but Cooking Notes are unavailable for that session.
Enter Notes on Each Platform
- iPhone and iPad: Type a note or choose Note This and speak. Supported voice notes use Apple's on-device speech recognition. Sparky Cooks does not save or upload the raw recording.
- Apple TV: Use the text field and Apple TV system dictation. Sparky Cooks receives the resulting text, not a raw recording from the app.
- Web: Type a note. You can also use dictation provided by your computer, phone, tablet, or browser when available.
Ask While You Cook
Choose Ask a Cooking Question when you need help with a substitution, technique, timing, or another immediate cooking problem. The answer appears without becoming part of the saved recipe. Cooking questions use the Cooking Assistant allowance.
Finish and Review
Choose Finish after the final cooking step. Finishing ends the Cooking Session on every connected device and, when Cooking Notes are present, prepares a proposed result for review.
For a saved recipe on the web, iPhone, or iPad, you can:
- Update Recipe with the proposed changes.
- Create Variation as a separate recipe.
- Append Cooking Note when a note section is available.
- Try Again if the result needs to be prepared again.
- Discard the result without changing the recipe.
For Cook From Scratch, review the recipe draft and accept it when it is ready. You can then use the normal recipe workflow to choose where it is saved or make additional edits.
Apple TV can show proposed changes for an existing saved recipe, but complete Update Recipe, Create Variation, or Append Cooking Note on the web, iPhone, or iPad. A scratch recipe can be accepted and saved directly on Apple TV after choosing a recipe folder.
If processing is interrupted, the Cooking Notes remain available and Sparky Cooks offers a retry action. Do not start over unless you intentionally want a separate Cooking Session.
