Editing Recipes
Learn who can edit recipes and what read-only users can do.
You can edit a recipe when you own it, own the folder it is in, or have an account role that allows recipe management.
If you do not have edit access, Sparky Cooks shows a read-only message and disables edit-only actions.
Editor Actions
The editor save bar includes:
- New to start a new recipe.
- Open to open an existing recipe.
- Import to import supported local file content.
- assistant formatting to format, rewrite, or import recipe content.
- Save to update the current recipe.
- Save As to create a new recipe copy.
- Convert/Export to export to supported formats such as PDF, Markdown, plain text, rich text, or HTML.
- Share when the recipe can be shared.
The file bar shows the current folder and recipe name. Users with edit access can rename the recipe, move it to another allowed folder, or delete it.
Moving Recipes
When you change a recipe folder from the editor, the folder picker shows folders you are allowed to save to. Regular users cannot move recipes into folders they do not own.
Shared recipes cannot be renamed or moved.
Save As
Use Save As to save a copy of a recipe with your changes. This is useful when you can view a shared recipe or another account recipe but cannot edit the original.
The Save As dialog lets you choose the destination folder. You can browse all folders and create a new folder from the save explorer.
Tags
View-only users can see recipe tags but cannot edit them.
Comments
Anyone who can view a recipe can add comments.
