Drafts, Edit Locks, and Conflicts

Sparky Cooks protects recipe editing with local drafts, edit locks, and saved recipe revision checks.

Local Drafts

While you edit, the app keeps a draft on the current device. A draft helps protect unsaved work if you go offline, leave the editor, or the app closes.

A local draft is not the saved account recipe. Other users and devices cannot see it until it is successfully saved.

For a newly created recipe, Sparky Cooks can offer the unfinished draft when you return. Review the draft before deciding whether to continue it or discard it.

When the Saved Recipe Changed

If the saved recipe changed after your draft began, Sparky Cooks shows the whole recipe with additions and deletions marked. Choose:

• Keep Draft to continue with your local version.
• Keep Saved to discard the local draft and use the current saved recipe.

Review the differences before choosing. Keeping the draft does not silently merge two edits; it makes your selected version the one you continue editing.

Edit Locks

Only one active editing session can save the same recipe at a time. If another authorized user or device holds the edit lock, the editor explains that the recipe is being edited and identifies the editor when that information is available.

While locked:

• Editing and save-only menus remain unavailable.
• Save is unavailable.
• Save As remains available when you want a separate copy.
• Refresh checks whether the editing session has ended.

This prevents the app from inviting changes that cannot be safely saved.

Working Offline

Recently loaded recipes can remain available for reading, and local drafts protect editor work. A change is not shared with the account until it reaches the server successfully.

Before leaving a device, confirm that the recipe shows a successful save when you need the change on another device.
